Our family farm, with a history spanning over seven generations, has grown and developed in the exact location as it stands today. As the family expanded, so too did the farm, adapting to the needs of each generation. For the past 30 years, Anthony Bee Farms has been successfully running under the leadership of its current owner, David Anthony. This rich legacy and dedication to excellence have driven the farm's continued success and growth throughout the years. After retiring from General Motors, David Anthony decided to plant apple trees around his house, envisioning a lush orchard providing an abundance of fruits. However, initially, David faced challenges in achieving the desired yield from his apple trees. Recognizing the importance of pollination, he introduced two bee hives to the farm to aid in the process. This innovative step proved successful as the number of beehives steadily multiplied, growing from 2 to 8 and eventually reaching 200 hives. From humble beginnings, David Anthony's bee farm soon transformed into a thriving commercial enterprise. As a testament to his dedication and expertise, David became the president of the MBA. He actively participated in the beekeeping community, sharing his knowledge through classes across the state for various age groups. His family has also been instrumental in the growth and success of the family bee farm, with each member playing a vital role in its development. Through perseverance and ingenuity, the Anthony family continues to foster a deep connection with the beekeeping industry and their legacy in sustainable farming. David's wife, Sandra Anthony, plays a crucial role in the operation, acting as the queen bee behind the scenes. Together, they have involved their son and daughter in the business, and even their grandchildren have joined the family's passion, making Anthony Bee Farms a third-generation endeavor. Committed to creating awareness and educating the public about honey bees, the family dedicates their time and resources to educating anyone interested in beekeeping. In its mission to create a thriving beekeeping community, Anthony Bee Farms has become adept at raising healthy honey bees each year. The experience they have acquired over time has enabled them to expand their services to encompass more than just education. Today, their offerings include pollination, honey sales (both wholesale and retail), beeswax, customized extracting, nuc sales, and wasp, hornet, and honey bee removal. By diversifying their business, the Anthony family demonstrates a comprehensive commitment to supporting novice and seasoned beekeepers, local agriculture, and the environment.
